Proxy ballots available at City Hall
If you are away for election day and the advance polls, you can still vote through a proxy ballot. Proxy ballots can be obtained by calling 416-338-1111 and pressing "0."
The Weekday Advance Voting takes place from Monday, October 23 to Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents of York Centre, Ward 5 should go to North York Civic Centre at 5100 Yonge St.
Weekend Advance Voting takes place on Saturday, November 4 & Sunday, November 5, 2006 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please re-visit my blog as I will post the location of this poll.
I'll be mentioning these dates along the campaign trail.
Canadian icon provides advice on adult education
I have been listening to many seniors groups about the importance of adult and continuing education. The TDSB can regain its leadership role in this area. Continuing education is an excellent way for adults to explore new subject areas, start a new business as well as remain active in their local communities. In addition to meeting with long-term associate Lillian Morgenthau, president and founder of CARP, Canada's Association for the Fifty-Plus, pictured, I also visited with Jack Henshaw, one of the leaders with Citizens for Lifelong Learning. Adult education should be affordable and available.
